    Kingdom Come: Deliverance

    Warhorse Studios/Deep Silver, 2018

A fantastic project, realised with a fantastic team of 4 translators and in close collaboration with the development studio. KCD is a truly unique game, because it connects historic facts with fiction: Henry, the son of a smith in early 15thcentury Bohemia, who finds himself unwillingly entangled in the political power games of his time, is madeup, while Radzig, the local burgrave, Henry’s new liege lord, is an actual historical figure.

    Minecraft: The End

Catherynne M. Valente, Random House Worlds, 2019

Not only was this title from the official Minecraft Youth Novel series one of the most approachable I have ever worked on – it also presents readers with a grandiose (and surprising!) showdown, which hit me so hard that my jaw literally dropped as I was translating!

    The World of Minecraft

    Edwin Evans-Thirlwell, HarperCollinsPublishers, 2024

I have been a gamer since early childhood (thanks to my brother), and have been playing Minecraft (thanks to the internet) on and off since January 2011. Which is why it was an honour and a privilege to translate this detailed, comprehensive and amazingly compiled work about the history of the most successful videogame of all time.

    Fart Quest

Aaron Reynolds, Roaring Brook Press, 2020

… isn’t in fact a graphic novel, but it was simply too awesome to not include it as a milestone! What a joy it was to translate this masterpiece of rollplaying comedy! Often enough, I burst out laughing while working on this title, but the thing that sets Fart Quest apart from everything else is the fact that I had never received feedback from avid readers for any other title before. An absolute joy to read for old and young!

    About me

Languages have been my “thing” since as long as I can remember, which was why, after a bit of backandforth, I went for American and Scandinavian Studies as my main university subjects. Both English and Swedish have been a part of my life since the early schooldays, which was why I didn’t hesitate for even a second when it came to picking the mandatory language for my degree programme… Swedish sounds simply beautiful!
Soon after finishing my degree, I found a job in game publishing… and stayed. I’ve been a freelance translator in the gaming industry and beyond since 2016. My daily work consists of highly sourceoriented translations into German, detailed research as well as a close collaboration with development teams, agencies and publishers. The end result is a translation, spiced with a hefty amount of creativity as well as an innate urge of finding a sensible solution for any given problem.

Whenever I’m not working, I like to spend time outside in nature – to either listen to the birds and the trees, or to pursue one of my favourite sports: running.

    The Idea

Anyone who knows just a little bit about the art of translating, understands that it is more than transferring a text into another language. A good translation grabs the tone, the mood and the effect of the original, and adjusts it to the target language. During this process, something new is created, something distinct, yet very familiar.
