Minecraft: The End
Catherynne M. Valente, Random House Worlds, 2019
Not only was this title from the official Minecraft Youth Novel series one of the most approachable I have ever worked on – it also presents readers with a grandiose (and surprising!) showdown, which hit me so hard that my jaw literally dropped as I was translating!
MINECRAFT The Crafter’s Kitchen
Emma Carlson Berne, Danica Davidson & Victoria Granof
Random House Worlds
2024

The World of Minecraft
Edwin Evans-Thirlwell, HarperCollinsPublishers, 2024
I have been a gamer since early childhood (thanks to my brother), and have been playing Minecraft (thanks to the internet) on and off since January 2011. Which is why it was an honour and a privilege to translate this detailed, comprehensive and amazingly compiled work about the history of the most successful videogame of all time.

Fart Quest
Aaron Reynolds, Roaring Brook Press, 2020
… isn’t in fact a graphic novel, but it was simply too awesome to not include it as a milestone! What a joy it was to translate this masterpiece of rollplaying comedy! Often enough, I burst out laughing while working on this title, but the thing that sets Fart Quest apart from everything else is the fact that I had never received feedback from avid readers for any other title before. An absolute joy to read for old and young!
About me
Whenever I’m not working, I like to spend time outside in nature – to either listen to the birds and the trees, or to pursue one of my favourite sports: running.

The Idea
Anyone who knows just a little bit about the art of translating, understands that it is more than transferring a text into another language. A good translation grabs the tone, the mood and the effect of the original, and adjusts it to the target language. During this process, something new is created, something distinct, yet very familiar.
